|Title:||Art Exhibit Reception - Shards|
|Description:||Join us at Gallery 1C03 for the launch of "SHARDS: Contemporary artists in conversation with the ceramics of our forebearers".
Organized by the Manitoba Craft Council and curated by University of
Winnipeg alumna Jenny Western, SHARDS is a group exhibition featuring
the work of four Indigenous female artists KC Adams, Lita Fontaine,
Niki Little and Jaime Black in conversation with the 2000+ years old
archaeological ceramic shards collections of the Manitoba Museum and
the University of Winnipeg. Bringing contemporary craft artists
together with the pots of their forebears, SHARDS incorporates both
new and old ceramics as well as craft and artwork reflective of the
shards that make up our past, present, and future as shared stewards
of this territory.
Catering and cash bar by Diversity Foods.
